The short version: SocialQ is a desktop application that runs on your own Mac. Your files, settings and API keys stay on your computer. To do its job the app sends your posts to the services you connect — Composio, Instagram/Meta and Google Drive, and optionally Resend and Cloudflare R2. We don't receive your posts. Our side only holds what's needed to run trials, sell and activate licenses, and run this website.

1. The app runs on your computer

Your queue, settings, approval history and the API keys you enter (Composio, and optionally Resend and Cloudflare R2) are stored locally on your Mac. They are never sent to us.
Your posts live in your own Google Drive. SocialQ reads them from there and publishes them to Instagram; we never receive copies of your media, captions or audio.
The app doesn't send us usage data or telemetry.

2. Where the app sends data — the services you connect

To publish your posts, the app sends data from your Mac directly to the services you have set up, using your own keys — never through our servers:

Composio — handles the connections to Instagram and Google Drive using your Composio API key. Requests to list, read and move your Drive folders and to publish to Instagram pass through Composio.
Instagram / Meta — receives the media, caption and settings of each post you approve, to publish it to your account.
Google Drive — SocialQ reads your post folders and moves or renames them (into "Posted" or "Failed", or when you reschedule).
Resend (optional) — if you add a Resend key, the content of alert emails (for example, that a post is due and unapproved) is sent through Resend to the address you choose.
Cloudflare R2 (optional) — if you set it up for media hosting, your post media is uploaded to your own R2 storage.
AI assistants (optional) — if you connect an AI tool to SocialQ's built-in connector (MCP), that tool can read and change your queue, and what it sees is governed by that tool's own privacy terms.

Each of these services processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

3. What we do process

To run trials, sell and activate SocialQ we process a small amount of information:

Trials. Starting the free trial (on this website or in the app) sends us your email address, which we store with the trial start date and basic platform information. We use it to run the 7-day trial fairly (one trial per person) and so we can follow up about the product.
Licenses. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We receive and keep your purchase email and the license key issued for it, so we can re-send a lost key.
Activation. When you activate, the app sends your license key and a device identifier for your computer, and we send a one-time code to your email. We store the device identifier with your license, plus the dates you activated or moved it, to keep one license on one computer at a time. The app periodically re-checks the license with the same key and device identifier.
Support. If you email support@questera.ai, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.
Website analytics — only with consent. This website (socialq.questera.ai) — not the app — may use website analytics. Any analytics that sets cookies (such as Google Analytics) is off by default and only runs if you press Accept on the consent banner; Decline (or ignoring it) leaves it off. At the time of writing no analytics are enabled on this site. If that changes, this section will name the tools used.

4. What we never collect

Your posts, media, captions or audio files.
Your Instagram, Google or Composio credentials, or any API key you enter in the app.
App usage data, crash logs or telemetry of any kind.

5. Your storage, your responsibility

Because SocialQ's data lives on your own device and in your own Google Drive, you are responsible for that storage, for backing up anything you care about, and for keeping your API keys safe. We have no copies and cannot recover data that is deleted or lost.

6. Retention and deletion

License records are kept for as long as your license is valid so a lost key can be recovered; trial records are kept so a trial can't be restarted. To ask what we hold about your email, or to have it deleted, contact support@questera.ai.

7. Third parties we rely on

Stripe — payment processing.
Netlify — hosting for this website and the license, trial and activation endpoints.
Questera's email-login service — sends the one-time codes used for activation and sign-in.

Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes will be noted on the site.
